Meet Our Researchers

Dr. Miklowitz is Professor of Psychiatry in the Division of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the UCLA Semel Institute, and a Senior Clinical Research Fellow in the Department of Psychiatry at Oxford University. His research focuses on family environmental factors and family psychoeducational treatments for adult-onset and childhood-onset bipolar disorder. More about Dr. Miklowitz

Dr. Semple is Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at the University of Southern California (USC), and Research Clinical Psychologist in the UCLA Department of Psychiatry. Her research includes a collaborative study with the Pasadena Unified School District and the ABC Unified School District on bringing mindfulness into the classroom. More about Dr. Semple

Dr. Hauser is a licensed clinical psychologist specializing in cognitive behavioral therapies (in particular, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)) for a wide variety of difficulties, including bipolar disorder, anxiety disorders, depression, sleep disorders, and relationship issues. Dana Elkun has worked in psychology research since 2001, first at the University of Washington on several studies related to adolescent depression and most recently at University of Colorado Boulder as the study coordinator for Dr. David Miklowitz's research on bipolar disorder. Marc Weintraub was the Research Assistant for the MBCT and Perinatal Women with Bipolar Disorder at the UCLA CHAMP Clinic. He is now in the clinical psychology PhD program at the University of Miami. More about Mr. Weintraub
